Kayla Beth's Story
Kayla Beth Colyer of Pennsylvania
was 15 years old when she noticed she had what appeared to be
swollen glands in her neck. Before long the lumps had traveled to
her collarbone. After many trips to several different doctors and
many different tests, she was diagnosed on May 7, 2009 with stage
III Hodgkin's Lymphoma. When her sister Nicole Vandall, a LT in the
United States Army, heard the news she decided to make candles to
raise money to fly her to Alaska, where she was stationed, for a
trip of a lifetime. A chance to be a soldier for a day! But then she
decided to take it a step further and started the organization
KaylaBeth Kreations. Named in honor of her younger sister,
KaylaBeth Kreations will continue making candles for
fundraisers for other children across the United States in similar
situations. KBK thanks everyone for your support. You
will be kept eternally in our hearts, a bright flame, shining in the
dark! |
